The creation of Flagship Homes came about after years of research and frustration in the second home market. Years and headaches that you no longer have to suffer.
Flagship Homes has operated, under various other company names, for 30 years in the Hartford area of Connecticut, US. Specializing in land development, proficiencies ranged from subdivision and planning to residential home construction as well as hundreds of real estate transactions, they have become adapt as anyone to the process of land use and home construction. These projects can be found on the local maps of the Farmington Valley and the Long Island Sound shore line, both in Connecticut.
Nearing retirement, the company’s founder began searching for a second home, starting with the areas he knew best, the shores of nearby Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Realizing the climate is the same there as his home in Connecticut, it didn’t seem too logical to pick as a vacation spot as well. Searching for warm weather and sunlight year round, he headed south to Florida and the US coastlines but found overcrowding, high prices and a devastating tropical storm season. These facts, and others, pushed him further south into the Caribbean, and eventually, St. Lucia. Please read our about st. lucia section to learn about the benefits of this island as opposed to others in the area.
After deciding to build in St. Lucia, the next question was how? We found there was no such thing as an easy process for the layman to build a tropical villa. The options are many when it comes to buying in to a resort or condo units, which carry with them a limited amount of time you're actually allowed to use your own property! Many people prefer the privacy of a single home and the freedom to choose the dates when they visit.
Builders are hard to find and harder to work with from a foreign country, making a task, already difficult, strenuous and expensive, exponentially worse. Being that he was already an expert in the field, building his own home was changed from hiring out a single builder to managing the project himself, creating a work environment similar to that of Connecticut. He was lucky to have such resources and experience in the field, which most everybody in the market does not. Simply put, not too many other people could be successful in this sort of venture, and so, Flagship Homes, St. Lucia, was born. Creating a modern service that goes out of its way to accommodate a foreign traveler in one of their most expensive investments, because no one else does. He wanted legs on the site so a new homeowner can avoid the many pitfalls of building in a strange new land, and be confident that their money is not wasted, and their opinions are not only heard, but implemented with their best intentions in mind. You need to be confident in your Flagship.
